Holiday Home Tour: Deck the Dining Room!
Alexandra Lauren Interior design was invited to participate in the Sacred Heart Holiday Home Tour, in Jackson, Tennessee. Our goal was to inspire 500 ticket holders with new and unique ideas to decorate their homes for the holidays.
Given my Montana roots, I miss the white blanket of fresh snow, and the way the snow glistens in the sunlight on the snowy trees. I chose to deck the halls of our home with sparkling antiqued slivers, ivories and a mixture of glistening golds to remind our family of the glistening snow at home.
We brought in two grand urns from outdoors to frame our dining room wall and provide symmetry with two pre-lit trees. The backs of the host and hostess chairs are dressed with wreaths complete with a bow. Chairs, artwork and mirror all available through Alexandra Lauren Design!
We are in love with Frontgate's Antiqued Glitter Lace ornaments! They come in a set of 6. Glistening with glitter, and detailed with impressively intricate beadwork, these Vintage Glass Ornaments dazzle in any tree. Carefully handcrafted and embellished, these heirloom-quality decorations are destined to be a family favorite for years to come. Here we combined them with some less expensive options such as snowflakes from Walmart, Sleighs, Reindeer and darling winter owls from our local Hobby Lobby.
As a drapery designer, I am all about dressing windows! For the boughs over the dining room window we designed our own floral bouquets for a touch of uniqueness in our greenery. I simply loved the tree bouquets available at Frontgate, but we did not love the price of $169.00 for a set of 3. Instead I took a trip to Hobby Lobby to purchase a hand full of peonies, and one box of Christmas balls in ivory. The Frontgate bouquets had only one flower. I was able to mimic their beautiful idea with 3 flowers instead of 1, and a large ball for more impact for only 29.00 a bouquet saving $82.00 each.
Fresh lilies, and roses, mixed with live ferns adorn the table.
Sparkling Top Hats we picked up from The Iron Gate in Franklin TN served as the perfect tree toppers!
Happy Merry Making from our home to yours!
